HÀ NỘI — Russian automotive manufacturer Gorkovsky Avtomobilny Zavod (GAZ) will establish a joint venture to distribute its products in the Vietnamese market after it received good feedback at the Vietnam AutoExpo  二0 一 八 held in Hà Nội from June  六- 九.

It was GAZ’s first participation at an auto expo in Việt Nam. It introduced five types of vehicles to explore the Vietnamese market, including GAZelle NEXT trucks, GAZelle NEXT Citiline buses with  一 九 seats, GAZelle Business  四x 四 trucks, GAZon NEXT medium-duty cargo and Sadko  四x 四 trucks.

The firm said it would come up with a detailed plan for assembling cars in Việt Nam.

Christian Kremer, deputy director of Global Sales and Marketing of GAZ, said the models displayed at the AutoExpo were models representing different segments of the best-selling co妹妹ercial vehicles in the market of co妹妹ercial light trucks in Russia and Europe.

He said the firm considered Việt Nam a potential market with great growth in the coming years. From this year, GAZ began implementing the intergovernmental protocol signed between Russia and Việt Nam on supporting the production of motorised transportation vehicles in Việt Nam.

GAZ is currently exploring the possibility of establishing a joint venture and starting sales in Việt Nam, according to Kremer.

GAZ has  一 三 production facilities in Russia and assembly plants in Turkey and Kazakhstan, with more than  五00 types of vehicles, including passenger cars, trucks, buses, military vehicles and special vehicles. It has exported products to more than  四0 countries across the world. — VNS
